The all-new Chevrolet Malibu design is sure to turn heads when it arrives at Donohoo Chevrolet later this year. The sleek new design features a more aerodynamic profile, and the car has been lowered by half an inch for a better driving experience. The interior has also been redesigned, with a new center console and updated dashboard. The seats have been ergonomically designed for comfort, and the car comes standard with eight airbags. Chevrolet has also made some changes under the hood, including a new Ecotec engine that is more powerful and efficient than the previous model. The car will also come with a six-speed automatic transmission, and there is an optional eight-speed transmission for those who want even more power. There will also be ten airbags to help keep you and your passengers safer in the event of a collision. All models are also equipped with a handy rearview camera. On select models, an available Driver Confidence package will give the Chevrolet Spark cutting-edge driver assistance features. Not only does the package include forward-collision warning, but it also has automatic emergency braking. This means the Spark can warn you if a potential collision is detected, and then apply the brakes if you do not brake in time.

The frustration of finding a new Chevrolet in the model and trim you want is hard for many of you. And then, finding suitable options and colors gets even more challenging. Finally, finding a dealer that will offer a reasonable price even if you find the vehicle you want is difficult and potentially strike three. Rather than wait and keep trying month after month, perhaps it is time to consider ordering the vehicle you want. Let's walk through some Chevrolet models, and we will give you some considerations on ordering them and tell you where they are made. First, the MSRP of the vehicle is subject to change if you want to reserve one that is on order but not ordered specifically in your name. If Chevrolet increases the MSRP before the vehicle is built and invoiced to us, it gets the new MSRP even if it was ordered before the price change. On the other hand, if we order the vehicle in your name (this is also called a sold order), the MSRP is locked from the date of the order. Secondly, when we place an order with your exact build, the time it takes to get built is compressed as Chevrolet will place a higher priority on sold orders. Another advantage of sold orders is the ability to get your rebates in the current month protected for when the vehicle lands. So rebates like Conquest, Costco, customer cash, etc. can be locked in. And the great part of it is that if the rebates are better when the vehicle gets here, you can use those rebates instead! This rebate protection program runs through 1/31/22, and it has been going for a while, but the program is month to month at the discretion of Chevrolet. We, unfortunately, cannot lock in finance terms or incentives. more Chevrolet encourages dealers to sell more vehicles by rewarding them with more allocation to build new units. Basically, if you sell more, you earn more. That is why we continue to be aggressive on price and offer our customers a transparent sales process. We know that this shortage isn't forever, and our aggressive pricing strategy is a long-term strategy to earn more new vehicles. CAMARO We have lots of Camaros on the way, but all of them are sold. The good news is that we should see strong replenishments within the next month (February or March). As one of the nation's top sellers of ZL1 Camaros, we will have a larger allocation than most. That means getting your order in with us will lead to you getting your Camaro before someone who reserves theirs from another dealership. A great alternative option is the 1LZ, otherwise known as the LT1 trim. That is an 8-cylinder Camaro without many bells and whistles but has an excellent price. Sold order pricing through 2/28/22 is $250 off MSRP before applying rebates. This vehicle is made in Michigan, so it shouldn't take long to get to us once built. Shop On Order Camaros EQUINOX If you want a neat-looking Equinox, the new RS trim is sharp. We have several of these coming. But, if you want an LS, LT, or Premier, those can be ordered. Unfortunately, Chevrolet has reduced manufacturing of those trims, and nationwide supply is abysmal. Sold order pricing through 2/28/22 is $2,000 off MSRP before applying rebates. These are made both in Canada and Mexico, and they are pretty quick to get to us once built. Over the past year or two, the biggest issue has been Chevrolet diverting microchips to more profitable models and limiting the production of the Equinox. This year, we hope that Chevrolet solves that problem, and Equinox should see greater availability. Shop On Order Equinox BLAZER Blazer has been another victim of chip supply issues. These are built in Mexico and get to us quickly once built. Like the Equinox, we offer $2,000 off MSRP for sold order pricing before applying any rebates. Shop On Order Blazers SILVERADO, SUBURBAN, AND TAHOE Silverado HD, especially crew cabs, is an area where we can order exceptional numbers. We are massive volume sellers of HDs. Likewise, we sell high volumes of the Silverado 1500 crew cabs. And we are far and away the top-selling Tahoe dealer in Alabama and rank in the top 1% of all Chevrolet dealers nationwide. The Tahoe and Suburban are made in Arlington, TX, and they have a short turnaround from manufacture date to delivery. The Silverado HDs are made in Oshawa, Canada, and Flint, MI, while the Silverado LDs are made in Mexico, Fort Wayne, IN, and soon in Oshawa, Canada. So they don't take too long to get to us at regular times. Silverado HDs Silverado 1500s Tahoes Suburbans COLORADO We anticipate some decent Colorado quantity to order over the next two months, so reach out to us on ordering these. The national supply of Colorados is limited, so ordering is a good option. Additionally, they are made near St Louis, MO, in Wentzville and have a very fast turnaround. Shop On Order Colorados TRAVERSE Traverse has been a victim of the chip crisis, as the quantity built has not kept up with demand. These are made in Lansing, MI, and like the Colorado arrive quickly once built. We do have the allocation for sold orders, so reach out to us to order one. Shop On Order Traverses TRAILBLAZER AND TRAX Like all of Chevrolet's lower profit vehicles, the Trailblazer and Trax have been victims of reduced production. As a result, we cannot place an order for a customer and only get what Chevrolet allows us. Unlike other vehicles, where we can specifically build what we want, the units are made in South Korea and only what Chevrolet has available parts for. They are shipped by boat to ports in the United States, and then we get them sent to us. You can reach out to us about what you are looking for, and we can monitor what is being built to see if it is a match. On Order Trailblazer On Order Trax SPARK The Spark is also built in South Korea, but these have not been allocated to dealers in months. The Spark is not a higher priority for Chevrolet given its low profitability for GM. It will be discontinued after the 2022 model year. We expect to get some allocation before production is terminated, so if you are interested, let us know quickly. Learn More About The Spark MALIBU If you have been shopping for a Malibu recently, you know how hard they are to find. The Kansas City plant that builds them has been mostly idle during the pandemic and has recently started ramping back up. Supply is coming back in light quantities, so if you want one, reach out to us. Shop On Order Malibu BOLT EV/EUV We have lots of these on order, but we are still waiting on production to get started with the battery recall consuming so much capacity on batteries. It is official. There will be no more Sparks built after August 2022. Your last chance to get your desired order for a Spark will be in early June 2022. So, for those Spark fans out there, please reach out to us to get one of the last Sparks built. We know many readers read this and either roll their eyes or make a funny face. And, yes, we know the true fans of the Spark are limited – otherwise, why would it be getting canceled by Chevrolet. The Spark indeed was fun in our ordering discussions – which are sometimes a grind through the minutia of options and packages and black, white, and silver colors that provide the color in a black and white movie. Through the years, some of the colors have included Caribbean Blue, Toasted Marshmallow, Passion Fruit Metallic, Orange Burst Metallic, Raspberry Metallic, Mystic Blue, and Cayenne Orange. It was like picking out your own customized Skittles bag to place on the lot. more My favorite Spark is the Special Edition with the two-tone roof. Our sales staff mocked me for ordering the Special Edition, claiming that it looked like protective wrapping on the roof, bumper, and side mirrors that had not been removed. I personally liked the look. Much to the amazement of others, it sold. And quickly. Of course, it was during the pandemic when vehicles were hard to find, and a new vehicle with a sticker price of $17,990 was quite rare. Here is a picture of it. Do you like it as much as I do, or will you join the chorus of doubters? If you reach out to us in time, we can order this Spark for you. And we will sell it for $100 under MSRP, a pretty great deal for someone looking to buy a new vehicle to get around town and with good gas mileage. One of our managers joked that I would order a $39,995 MSRP Spark Special Edition V6 with Super Cruise and panoramic roof to memorialize my Spark obsession for the final order. (Don't be silly, I wouldn't leave off the spoiler wing.) If you would like an absurdly expensive Spark, the best I could do is a 2LT for $23,335. Here is a breakdown: $395 - Additional add for the Nitro Yellow color. $590 - Driver Confidence Package + Winter/Summer Floor Mats Package $1,100 - How about 15-inch wheels and red wheel inserts for $1,100? $1,000 - The sunroof (not panoramic but does have tilt and slide features with express-open and close that also includes dual reading lamps). $75 - A windshield and outside mirror cover protect this unique piece with SPARK across the cover. $235 - Chrome bodyside moldings to create style. $195 - Black bowties to show this vehicle is tough $75 - Wheel lock kit because you know someone wants to steal those 15s. $75 - Smoker's package for $75 because movie stars in old movies looked cool $155 - Sport pedal kit to give it the proper racing look $85 - Aluminum sill plates because I don't want scratches and scrapes $85 - All-weather cargo mat in case your groceries leak through the bag on the way home $75 - Cargo net, so said leaking groceries won't fall onto you when you open the hatchback That is everything. You have it all. Oh, I almost forgot. $100 - Engine Block heaters are not just for bad boy HD diesel trucks. All joking aside, in today's market with prices super high for everything, Chevrolet could sell A LOT OF SPARKS. But, of course, Chevrolet would likely lose money hand over fist by not devoting those precious semiconductor chips to more profitable vehicles like trucks and full-size SUVs. Spark, I will miss you for all of the fun you've created for us in ordering you. All of the bright colors you contributed to making our dealership's lot, mostly filled with black, silver, and white vehicles, look more exciting. I will miss you for the excited customer that bought a new car that may not have been able to afford one otherwise. Those customers loved buying you as much as some of those Corvette buyers loved buying the Corvettes, and you will be missed.

If you have been shopping for a new vehicle for any time, you will have noticed that there isn't much out there. Chevrolet, in particular, is hurting from supply challenges. We would have over 300 new vehicles at our dealership in past years, with hundreds more in production or on the way. Today, we have less than ten at our dealership. The good news is we have hundreds that are in production! You can reserve the vehicle you want and lock in our below MSRP price. However, that does mean changing how you would shop our website, and this blog will teach you how. more To view our On-Order vehicles go to our website, hover over the Specials tab, and select the New Specials option. You will see a page showing different models. Click the model that you are most interested in shopping for. You will find a web page that looks like the one below. Before you freak out and think this looks like too much, let me simplify things for you. The top line is the Order Number. Think of the Order Number as an identifier for the vehicle. We are using an Order Number instead of something like a Stock Number or VIN because the vehicle has not been produced yet. Notice that there is no price on these vehicles. That is because the MSRP of the vehicle is not officially set until the vehicle is invoiced. GM does increase the MSRP of a vehicle within a model year at times. Therefore, we can discuss pricing at a difference to MSRP, but the MSRP will need to be finalized before a price is finalized for you. With GM’s rebate protection program, we can lock in the rebate structure on a vehicle for you as well. So we can price out a good portion of the vehicle with the only risk being the MSRP change that may occur with Chevrolet. The following line is Vehicle. You will find the model year, model, and, if applicable, drivetrain information. The drivetrain is 4 wheel drive (4WD), 2 wheel drive (2WD), all-wheel drive (AWD), rear-wheel drive (RWD), and front-wheel drive (FWD). Exterior color and interior color are on the next line and should be straightforward. Chevrolet likes to use complex-sounding colors to describe their color options, but a quick google search should show you what to expect. The interior color will also inform you whether or not the vehicle has a leather or cloth interior. Trim includes the Trim Level and the Preferred Equipment Group. Chevrolet's Trim Levels are entry to high end and in order are WT, LS, Custom, LT, RST, Z71, LTZ, Premier, and High Country. Not every model will have every trim, but this should give you an idea. Unfortunately, specific options are not available at lower trim levels. On the Blazer and Traverse page you will notice this line includes an option for both Blazer and Traverse. Don't worry, this is a decoding thing GM does, just reference the Vehicle line to verify you are looking at the right model. Engine will only show the engine included on the vehicle. Transmission will only show the transmission included on the vehicle. The last thing we show is the Options on the vehicle. We did our best only to show options that are relevant to customers. This will include most options or packages included on the vehicle, but a few may be left out. Our options should be really, really close in nomenclature to the options on Chevrolet.com. September deals are about what you would expect from a company struggling to keep up with demand due to a crippled supply chain. However, that doesn't mean there aren't some good deals. We will walk you through this month's sales. Quick tip to help you read this. We give our customers all available incentives and our Donohoo discount to provide you with our best price. So when you see something say $5,000 off MSRP, that is usually a mix of Chevrolet incentives and our additional discount. more There is an unusual incentive this month offering a $1,000 accessory allowance. We don't think this is a great incentive. You have to give up $500 customer cash (meaning your final price goes up $500) to qualify. You must spend at least $1,000 on accessories, and not all accessories qualify. The allowance doesn't cover labor or tax. We think the customer cash is what most people should choose unless there is an accessory you have to have that costs over $1,000. The Tahoe, Suburban, Silverado 1500, Heavy Duty, and Colorado qualify for the accessory allowance. Silverado 1500 - Shop Inventory - Shop On Order We are offering 2021 Chevrolet Silverado Trail Bosses at up to $6,000 off MSRP. In this market, that kind of deal is almost impossible to find anywhere else. So why are we doing this? Well, they are for sale at $48,605 and have an MSRP of $54,605. What is a little unusual about these Trail Bosses is they have cloth interiors. So if you are looking for a truck with a cloth interior, you better jump on these deals before they are gone. If you want leather, we can install it for an additional $1,500. Shopping for Trail Bosses can be confusing. Check out our shopping guide here. Tahoe and Suburban - Shop Inventory - Shop On Order The large SUV market continues to be one rife with shortages. However, our price of $600 off MSRP is one of the best around. Please read our blog about why dealers are adjusting their prices above MSRP to learn more. Also, if you see a Tahoe or Suburban online or on order, please let us know as soon as possible. These vehicles won't last long. We are finally getting some with the Luxury Package, check out our blog to learn more. Silverado 2500HD and 3500HD - Shop Inventory - Shop On Order Like the Tahoe and Suburban, our $600 off price tag makes this month's sale very strong. There is a national shortage of trucks, and we have a decent number in stock or on order. We still expect inventory to be tight for a long time to come, so if you see what you want, please jump on it. Camaro - Shop Inventory - Shop On Order Chevrolet has dramatically reduced the number of Camaros they have built in the last couple of years, which is great for resale value. As a result, used Camaro prices are solid, and that helps with purchasing a new Camaro. Given the market, $250 off MSRP is a good value for a Camaro. Colorado - Shop On Order Check out the on-order Colorados here. Unfortunately, we don't have any units on the ground, but we have a number on order. You can order from us or shop around. As long as you don't pay above MSRP for a Colorado, you should be ok. The Colorado holds its value well used. Traverse, Blazer, Trailblazer, Equinox, Malibu, and Trax - Shop Blazer/Traverse On Order - Shop Equinox/Trailblazer On Order - Shop Trax On Order - Shop Malibu On Order Like last month, rebates are NOT very high, but inventory is ridiculously low. It is a seller's market. The plus side is that the used market value for these is high, but no one knows if that will be transitory. Be thorough shopping for these vehicles to make sure you get the best deal available. It would be best if you made certain resale value doesn't hamper you years down the road. It is rare in the auto industry to say that a new vehicle offers a better value proposition than their used counterparts, but this August, that statement is true - at least for Chevy. So when you see something say $5,000 off MSRP, that is usually a mix of Chevrolet incentives and our additional discount. more Silverado 1500 - View Inventory We are offering 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 at up to $6,000 off for purchasing customers. To put that in perspective, we have seen used Silverado 1500s going for above MSRP at the wholesale auction with 20,000 miles on them. The craziness on used Silverado 1500s is softening some, but these trucks have traditionally held value really well, and that will mitigate some of the slimmer rebates on offer from Chevrolet. Our really strong pricing offering is the high country at $6,000 off MSRP. We start the month with a handful of them, and we expect they will go quickly. We have a tremendous selection of Trail Bosses. A recent search within 250 miles of our store found we have about 15% of the trail bosses available. That distance covers Atlanta, Nashville, Birmingham, Huntsville, Chattanooga, Knoxville, Montgomery, and Tuscaloosa. The custom Trail Boss is an incredible value at its MSRP levels. We believe Chevrolet has priced the MSRP a little too low on that trim level. We are selling that vehicle for $2,750 below MSRP including Chevrolet rebates. The LT Trail Boss has a few more creature comforts, and we have those priced at $5,000 below MSRP – an outstanding value in today’s market. Click here to see our Trail Boss Shopping Guide. BOLT EUV and BOLT EV - View Inventory The 2022 BOLT EV and BOLT EUV are both listed for "MSRP," but in reality, we are offering them at $2,000 off MSRP. Chevrolet is particularly aggressive on lease deals this month, so check out our leasing pricing here. The deal on purchasing a Bolt isn’t quite as favorable, but we’ve done our best to make the price attractive given the incentive support from Chevrolet. Tahoe and Suburban - View Inventory The 2021 Tahoe and Suburban market is a weird one. Like the truck market, used Tahoes and Suburbans are going for well above MSRP at the auction. So our discount of $250 off MSRP is excellent compared to our competition. We know this doesn't make much sense, but that is the market we are in with these inventory and chip shortages. We don't expect prices to get much better until later 2022, so if you find the Tahoe or Suburban you are looking for, we suggest you jump on it. Silverado 2500HD and 3500HD - View Inventory Like the Tahoe and Suburban, the HDs are a great buy because of the market. Used trucks are selling at ridiculous prices, so buying one of our new ones at $250 off can save you thousands. Inventory will be tight for a long time to come, and our selection is better than most. If you see what you are looking for, be sure to jump on it. Traverse, Blazer, Trailblazer, and Equinox - View Inventory We have plenty of these on order, but a really limited number on the ground. The rebates aren’t particularly high on these, so you aren’t in an advantageous position shopping for these. It is a seller’s market. The plus side is that the used market value for these is high as well, but no one knows if that will be transitory. Camaro - View Inventory Chevrolet has greatly reduced the number of Camaros they have built in the last couple of years, and that is great for resale value. Used Camaro prices are very strong, and that helps with purchasing a new Camaro. Given the market, $250 off MSRP is a good value for a Camaro. Colorado – View Inventory Check out the on-order Colorados here. We are offering $1500 off MSRP, and given how well a Colorado holds its value used, that is a decent buy in today’s market.
