Watch the Full Breakdown: DECEMBER DEALS: Employee Pricing For All at Donohoo Chevrolet! more 1. The SUV Lineup: Redesigns and Real Savings We are offering Employee Pricing across our most popular SUVs. Here’s the breakdown: The All-New Chevy Trax: The Trax has undergone a massive redesign—it’s longer, roomier, and packed with safety features. Because of advertising rules, the price online might look a bit higher than what we actually sell it for. Pro Tip: Just call us at 256-979-8220 to get the actual Employee Price (typically between $20k–$25k). The Equinox: The interior on the new Equinox feels far more premium than its price point suggests. We can advertise the Employee Price directly on this one, so what you see online is the real deal! The Traverse: For those who need a family mover with a third row but don't want to break the bank on a full-size Tahoe, the Traverse is the ultimate recommendation. Tahoe & Suburban: These class leaders are included in the Employee Pricing event (excluding Z71 models). Whether you need the utility of the Tahoe or that extra 2 feet of cargo space in the Suburban , now is the time to buy. 2. The Nation's #1 Heavy Duty Dealer Donohoo Chevrolet is officially the #1 retail dealer of HD trucks in the entire U.S.. Because of our high volume, we can offer deals you won't find anywhere else: 2026 Models: All trim levels (including Trail Boss, LT, and ZR2) are available at Employee Pricing. 2024 & 2025 Inventory: We have a select few leftovers that are priced BELOW Employee Pricing. These are perfect for businesses looking to maximize their year-end budget. Specialty Builds: From Fox Factory "Black Widow" editions to supercharged "Baja" trucks with over $35,000 in carbon fiber , we have the most unique inventory in Alabama. 3. The Business Advantage: Section 179 & Fleet Benefits If you own a business, December isn't just about a new truck—it's about a smarter tax strategy. Tax Deductions (Section 179): Vehicles like the Silverado 2500 and 3500 qualify for Section 179, allowing you to potentially deduct the entire value of the vehicle from your 2024 income. As we say in the video: "Better to buy something and use it rather than just pay Uncle Sam." Extended Warranties: If you have a fleet account (FAN number), your powertrain warranty on gas-powered vehicles jumps from 5-year/60,000-mile to 5-year/100,000-mile. Job-Site Ready: We don't just sell trucks; we upfit them. Our shop can install flatbeds, service bodies, strobe lights, inverters, and compressors so your truck is ready to work the moment it leaves the lot. 4. The Ultimate Guide to Commercial Truck Upfits: Stock, Flatbed, or Service Body?

Donohoo Chevrolet was the number one HD truck dealer in the United States in 2024, and it's not by accident. In a recent episode of the Donohoo Chevrolet podcast, Commercial Outfitting and Inventory Manager Andrew and Marketing’s Tyler sat down to demystify the process of buying an HD truck for personal, family, or business use. The market for heavy-duty trucks—especially those needing custom beds and upfits—can be overwhelming. If you’re in the market for a Chevrolet 2500 or 3500 Silverado, this guide breaks down the essential choices you need to make to get the perfect mobile work solution. more The Donohoo Advantage: Why Inventory Matters Before diving into the hardware, it’s worth noting what sets Donohoo Chevrolet apart and how they achieved the top spot: Massive Inventory: We stock roughly 250 3500 Silverados and 80 2500 Work Trucks at any given time. This means you can physically see and test out various trim levels and upfit combinations in one place. Transparent Pricing: Every vehicle has an upfront, best price listed on the website. Critically, this transparent price includes the full cost of any installed upfit, eliminating the headache of hidden costs or searching for final pricing. No Hidden Requirements: There are no requirements to finance with us, and no mandatory outside purchases (like nitrogen in the tires or window tint). The only outside charge is a $299 dock fee. Step 1: Choosing Your Truck Bed (The Core Decision) If you're buying a heavy-duty truck, your first and most critical decision is the type of bed that best suits your needs. There are three main categories: Bed Type Primary Use Case Key Feature Gooseneck Compatible? Stock Bed Personal use, contained loads, family hauling. Standard tailgate and bedsides. Yes Flatbed Hauling pallets, long/wide materials, high versatility. Wide-open, flat deck for easy side loading. Yes (most common use) Service Body Organized, weatherproof tool storage and high utility. Multiple side compartments/boxes (typically six). No The Work Truck Misconception If you're considering a base Work Truck (WT) trim, forget the stripped-down version of the past. Today’s Work Truck typically comes standard with power windows, locks, cruise control, and keyless entry, making it a perfectly capable daily driver for family duty and job site work. Step 2: Answering the Gooseneck Question To quickly narrow your options, ask yourself: Do I need to haul a gooseneck trailer? If Yes: You are choosing between a Stock Bed or a Flatbed. If No: The Service Body is an option for maximized, secure storage. Step 3: Decoding the Cost Difference Many customers believe upgrading to a commercial bed is a massive financial jump. In reality, the difference in the total cost is often negligible in terms of monthly payments. Truck Type (2500 Silverado, Gas Engine) Approximate Price Range Stock Bed (Base WT) $50,000 – $55,000 Flatbed Upfit Around $60,000 Service Body Upfit Around $60,000 For an increase of about $5,000–$10,000 in total cost, you gain significant functionality that could streamline your business operations and pay for itself over time. Flatbeds: Built for Versatility and Heavy Hauling The flatbed is the "do-it-all" option, especially if you need a gooseneck hitch. Flatbeds start around eight to nine feet long, offering massive deck space. Flatbed Configuration Upfit Cost Range (Approx.) Key Features Bare Bones Gooseneck Starting at $5,995 Just the flat deck and gooseneck hitch. Standard with Boxes Around $7,000 Adds two 24-inch storage boxes underneath the deck. Skirted Gooseneck (CM SK) Around $9,000 Our most popular option. Adds four boxes and a polished, "skirted" cosmetic look around the undercarriage. Extreme Customization (Job Site Ready) For specialized tasks, customization is key. Our "Job Site Ready" trucks, like the CM TM Deluxe, maximize storage while preserving enough trailer swing for a gooseneck. Custom add-ons we frequently install include: Air compressors Secondary fuel tanks (50 to 150 gallons) Heavy-duty ball-bearing tool drawers Power Inverters (1,000+ watt): Essential for charging lithium-ion power tools, running small lights, or even powering laptops/fans on the job site. Service Bodies: Mobile, Organized Workshops If you can rule out the gooseneck trailer, the service body is the ultimate organizational tool. Standard Configuration: Almost all service bodies (Napod, Royal, Redding) feature the same six-box setup (front vertical, horizontal over the wheel, and rear vertical compartments on each side). Aluminum vs. Steel: Upgrading to an aluminum body can reduce the bed’s weight by approximately 50%. This adds valuable payload capacity for your tools and materials, and offers better corrosion resistance in climates that use road salt. Top Accessories: The most popular add-ons include: Ladder Racks: Easy to install without worrying about trailer interference. Flip-Top Lids: Small bins on the top surface of the horizontal compartments for organizing small parts (screws, bolts, etc.). Power Inverters: Used extensively to keep batteries charged between job sites. Final Considerations: Tax Benefits and Current Deals Tax Deduction: The Silverado 2500 and 3500, when used for business, generally qualify for the Section 179 deduction, allowing a full deduction of the purchase price in the year the vehicle is placed into service. Current Deals: While the market is competitive, Donohoo Chevrolet is currently offering great deals on 2024 and 2025 leftover inventory. There are no significant changes between the 2025 and 2026 model years, making the older inventory a great opportunity to save money on a nearly identical truck. How to Escape Negative Equity on Your Car Loan with a Chevrolet EV Lease

Being stuck with negative equity on a car loan can feel overwhelming, especially if your credit has taken a hit. Negative equity means you owe more on your car loan than the car is worth, sometimes called being "upside down" or "underwater." Things can get worse if you roll that negative equity into a new loan, leading to higher rates and longer repayment terms. Many people find themselves buried in debt, which can result in repossession or even personal bankruptcy. If you can’t afford to keep your current car and finish paying it off, switching vehicles might leave you in an even tougher spot. For example, if your credit score is around 650, financing a new car and the negative equity could result in a loan with rates over 10% for six years. But there’s a potential solution: a Chevrolet EV lease. Why a Chevrolet EV Lease Can Help GM Financial offers competitive money factors (low interest rates) on leases for eligible EVs. Eligible EVs include: 2024 and 2025 Blazer EV 2024 Equinox EV 2024 and 2025 Silverado EV This program allows you to bundle negative equity into a short-term lease at a much lower rate than traditional financing. Example: Leasing a 2024 Blazer EV Here’s how it works using the 2024 Blazer EV as an example: Base Lease Terms: Monthly payment: $379 (24 months, 10,000 miles/year, excluding taxes and title). Vehicle price: $48,972 (down from a $54,595 MSRP). Money factor: 0.00099 (equivalent to 2.38% APR). Impact of Credit Score: At a 620 credit score, typical financing would be over 10%. With GM Financial's A1 tier for conquest customers, the rate drops to 2.38% APR. Rolling in Negative Equity: GM Financial allows up to 110% of the MSRP to be financed. This means you can add up to $11,000 of negative equity to the lease. Reducing Your Monthly Payment Conquest and membership incentives can significantly lower your lease payment: $1,500 Conquest Incentive: Reduces the payment from $379 to $315.03. $1,000 Costco Member Rebate: Drops it further to $272.37. For 15,000 miles/year: Payment adjusts to $359.44 with both incentives. The Real Benefit: Clearing Negative Equity If you roll in $10,000 of negative equity: Payment with both incentives increases to $698.94 for 24 months. At the end of the lease, your negative equity is gone, as long as you stay within the mileage limits and return the car in good condition. Why This Works A Chevrolet EV lease lets you: Finance your negative equity at a low effective rate (2.38% APR). Spread payments over just 24 months. Drive a new EV at a reasonable cost while solving your debt problem. If you’re struggling with negative equity, this could be a way out while upgrading to a modern, eco-friendly vehicle. It’s a short-term solution with long-term benefits for your finances.

Navigating the Shift to Electric: Challenges and Opportunities for Automakers

The automotive world is undergoing a significant transformation, and automakers find themselves at a crucial juncture. The initial rush to embrace electric vehicles (EVs), driven largely by passionate early adopters, is now reaching a pivotal point. As the focus shifts towards the "early majority"—a more price-sensitive group—the challenges are becoming more pronounced. Axios highlights that these mainstream consumers are not easily swayed. Their hesitations arise from concerns about the higher costs of EVs compared to traditional gasoline vehicles, uncertainties surrounding the charging infrastructure, and a belief that more advanced models are on the horizon. The overarching sentiment seems to be: why invest in today's EVs when tomorrow's might be superior? more This consumer sentiment suggests that the trajectory towards a predominantly electric future might not be as swift or smooth as once anticipated. Reacting to these evolving dynamics, many automakers are recalibrating their strategies. They're revisiting pricing models and production targets, but their commitment to an electric future remains unwavering. Diving deeper, GM exemplifies the challenges of this transition. If a GM electric vehicle is on your radar, it's essential to understand the current landscape. A recent Reuters report revealed some production challenges faced by the automotive giant. GM's Chief Financial Officer, Paul Jacobson, addressed these during a J.P. Morgan investor conference. He highlighted battery module assembly as a key challenge, likely stemming from supplier-related issues, a sentiment echoed by CEO Mary Barra. The real-world impact of these challenges is evident in the Cadillac Lyriq's production. GM's ambitious projection in 2022 to produce 25,000 Lyriqs at their Spring Hill, Tennessee plant fell short. In the first half of this year, less than 2,400 units reached customers, primarily due to battery-related issues. Yet, with challenges come opportunities. The anticipation surrounding GM's upcoming EVs, like the Chevy Blazer EV, is palpable. As Chevrolet enthusiasts, we at Donohoo Chevrolet eagerly await these models and remain optimistic about what the future holds. To sum it up, the transition to a fully electric automotive landscape is not without its challenges. But as the industry evolves, one thing remains certain: at Donohoo Chevrolet, our passion for innovation and our commitment to our customers will always drive us forward.

2024 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 and 3500 HD: Enhanced Gas Transmission and Greater Display Capabilities

In 2019, Chevrolet rolled out its revamped Silverado 2500 and 3500 HD models, offering power and performance upgrades alongside a daring front-end design that raised quite a few eyebrows. With the mid-cycle refresh of the Silverado HD, Chevrolet stepped back from this audacious style, instead opting for a more subtle approach that mirrors the aesthetic of its light-duty models. Alongside these design changes, the 2024 Chevy Silverado HD models are packed with many interior enhancements where they were much needed. more Upgraded Gas Transmission, Power Enhancements Across the Board When introducing an updated truck, Chevrolet understands the importance of boasting enhanced power and hauling capacity. Keeping with this trend, the six-speed automatic transmission with the Silverado HD's standard 6.6-liter gas V-8 engine has been replaced with the Allison 10-speed, previously paired with the Duramax 6.6-liter diesel V-8. This change allows the gross combined weight rating of the gas V-8 HD to increase from 24,000 pounds to 26,000 pounds. The Duramax turbodiesel V-8 retains its Allison 10-speed transmission for the 2024 model but with more power on board. Changes to the engine's combustion process, which now boasts greater efficiency, result in an added 25 hp and 65 lb-ft of torque, culminating in 470 hp and 975 lb-ft of torque. This diesel engine can now be paired with the max tow package across all Silverado 2500 HD trims, increasing the towing capacity for trucks with this configuration to 22,500 pounds. The maximum towing capacity for the lineup remains 36,000 pounds for the appropriately equipped dual-rear-wheel 3500 HDs. A Rejuvenated Facade With a pronounced grille spear, the current Silverado HD design separates the headlights from the running lamps. The updated version, however, integrates these elements into a single unit. An elongated, curved LED accent light extends the truck's lighting vertically and frames the grille, with the primary lighting positioned high up, close to the hood's edge. Though the new design includes faux "intakes" under each headlight, the overall front-end look is much tidier than before. Not much change is noticeable in the rest of the exterior, although there are some fresh wheel designs and revamped taillight internals. For this 2024 update, Chevrolet wisely channeled its energy into refining the Silverado HD's interior, which had previously lagged behind other heavy-duty trucks, notably the Ram 2500/3500 pair and Chevrolet's light-duty 1500 counterpart. The updated Silverado HD now features a 13.4-inch central touchscreen across almost all trim levels and a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster. Drawing on recent GM models, the Silverado HD boasts a revamped, horizontal button layout beneath the dashboard display. The switchgear appears more refined, even in photos. Though some of the buttons around the climate controls seem slightly fiddly, the physical controls for functions like seat heaters, defrost, and fan speed cannot be faulted. Chevrolet has also added air vents to the rear seat area, extra storage, a new center console with an optional wireless phone charger, and up to 10 cupholders. These updates predominantly apply to the LT, LTZ, and High Country Trim levels. The improved cabin, coupled with new technology, promises to make both commuting and towing more convenient. The HD models now offer adaptive cruise control for the first time, an option supplementing the standard forward collision warning, automated emergency braking with pedestrian detection, lane-departure warning, and a following distance indicator. The adaptive cruise control can even function with a trailer attached, adjusting for the trailer's added weight and aerodynamic drag. The updated "Transparent Trailer" tech, enabling a rearview as if the trailer were "invisible," is now compatible with gooseneck and fifth-wheel trailers. The blind-spot monitoring function has also been optimized for use with a trailer attached. The Silverado HD continues to be available in WT, LT, LTZ, and High Country trim levels. Being the most luxurious, the latter will now offer a blacked-out Midnight Edition package for 2024. Adding to the exciting updates, Chevrolet will introduce an off-road-focused ZR2 trim to the HD lineup, aligning with the rugged ZR2 versions of the smaller Colorado and Silverado 1500 models.
