If you have a multimeter in your home garage, then you’re already off to a great start. Connect the multimeter to the appropriate negative and positive terminals on your car’s battery to check the voltage. If you aren’t reading 12.6 volts with the car turned off, it may be time for a new battery.
Now, switch on the car and check the revised voltage for a reading ideally over 10. If you see the voltage dip below five while the engine is running, the battery is in poor condition, and a new one should take its place.

While most consumers are driving and continue to drive gas vehicles, there are some companies, including GM, that would hurry the transition to electric cars. However, there are some issues with the adoption of electric vehicles.
Currently, electric vehicles have a limited range of only three to four hundred miles, and they take much longer to charge than it would otherwise take to fill your car tank with gasoline. Once ranges can be extended and charging time significantly sped up, they will be considered more practical. The important question is, how far away are we from fixing these issues?

The first thing you should do to avoid a blowout is checking your tire pressure. Low tire pressure or incorrect tire pressure is the top cause of tire blowouts. Most new cars now have a tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) that will warn you if the pressure in your tires is too low.
You should still check your tires for low pressure, especially during colder months when temperatures drop. In addition, you should replace worn tires and tires that have required patches in the past. It’s never a good idea to keep driving on old, worn tires, especially if the treads are worn down. You should be able to place a penny in between the treads to check if they’re worn down. If you can see Lincoln’s head after placing the penny, then you need to replace your tires soon.
