Fortunately, and unfortunately, there are many reasons why a car engine overheats. Luckily for you and us, our Fort Payne, AL Donohoo Chevrolet service department knows all the reasons why an engine might get too hot for its own good. They shared some of the main culprits with us. Take a look.
Ruptured or Clogged Radiator Hose
The radiator hose is one of many that are central to a car’s cooling system. The radiator hose conducts coolant flow between the water pump and the heater. This coolant collects engine heat, carrying it via the radiator hose to the radiator, which dissipates the heat through exposure to cooler air entering via the grill and air intake.
Cooling Fan Problems
Car fans enhance the flow of air that enters the vehicle via air intake. When the fan fails, airflow suffers, and liquid coolant circulating between the radiator and engine never gets properly cooled. The result is a buildup of heat in the engine that ultimately leads to overheating. Temperature gauges rising to ‘H’ or flashing warning lights in the dash are important indicators to observe.

The all-new Chevrolet Malibu design is sure to turn heads when it arrives at Donohoo Chevrolet later this year. Chevrolet has also made some changes under the hood, including a new Ecotec engine that is more powerful and efficient than the previous model. The car will also come with a six-speed automatic transmission, and there is an optional eight-speed transmission for those who want even more power.
Those in Fort Payne, AL who are looking for a stylish and efficient car will definitely want to check out the all-new Chevrolet Malibu when it hits dealerships later this year. With its updated design and improved performance, the Malibu is sure to be a hit with drivers of all ages.
