What is the Land O’ Lakes CAP (Competitive Assistance Program)?

This program adds value to your cooperative and co-op members by consolidating “the buy” on fleet equipment which has allowed the program to achieve an average of $5,300 in manufacturer discounts per vehicle. 

Over 3,000 members use this program each year and over $50 million has been saved for producers and members over the past 3 years alone. 

Program Features:

• Average per vehicle savings of $5,300 and up to $11,000.

• No tax on rebate dollars. Retail rebate dollars are taxed, then removed, GM takes off Land O’ Lakes program rebate dollars before tax. 
• Improved Warranty: Retail purchase gets 3-year, 36,000 full coverage, and powertrain to 60,000 miles. The CAP program gives you a 3-year, 36,000-mile bumper-to-bumper and an extended powertrain of up to 100,000 miles that is transferable. That’s 40,000 miles of additional coverage!

GM has a program where those who qualify as Land O’ Lakes members under the written agreement can receive very attractive discounts on purchasing new Chevrolets. GM considers the agreement with Land O’ Lakes confidential, so we cannot divulge the information on our website but can share details with members that reach out to us.

What are the qualifications?

Land O’ Lakes control Land O’ Lakes membership eligibility, but if you are a member, we can steer you in the right direction on getting eligibility information. The CAP agreements will change from year to year at times to loosen or restrict eligibility under it. Such changes would generally apply to the next model year, so the 2022 model year could be looser than the 2023 model year on eligibility requirements, for example. Because of that, many should consider buying under the Land O’ Lakes program on 2022 model year vehicles, of which we still have many.

What are the discounts?

Again, these agreements are confidential, so you need to contact us and let us know you are a Land O’ Lakes member, and we can discuss the discounts. The difference between retail incentives and these are likely to be much higher on a 2022 model year than a 2023 model year as GM has reduced publicized incentives applied towards sales of fleet units with the supply chain issues limiting inventory GM can build. So when the 2023 model year agreement comes out, it would be logical that incentives could be lower for the 2023 model year. The 2022 model year agreement is set, though. But it will only last while 2022 model year vehicles are available. So even if the incentives are less exciting in the 2023 model year, they will likely exceed the retail incentives available to purchase the vehicle.

What if I am just an individual and not a big company?

Utilizing the program helps provide greater purchasing power for the program’s future, as GM sees it as creating sales. Also, this program gives you more miles on the powertrain warranty. The vehicle is covered by a Limited Powertrain Warranty of 5 years or 100,000 miles, whichever comes first. That exceeds the standard 5 years, 60,000 miles powertrain for retail purchases. If you are smaller, you often lack the purchasing size to qualify for a fleet account number with GM and receive fleet powertrain warranty benefits. Utilizing this program enables you to access those benefits.
